Rob and Allie: Engaged | Washington DC Engagement Session | Creative DC Wedding Photographer

Allie and Rob | Washington DC Engagement Session

We ran around a museum.
(We literally had 20 minutes before it closed.)
We danced in the Rothko Room.
We ran into the Alton Brown and all had fankid moments.
And we walked the streets of DC a week before these two moved to NYC.

P.S. The answer is yes: Rob and Allie are as awesome and fun in real life as they seem.

Rachael and Cam: Engaged | Virginia Beach Engagement Session | ViBe District Portrait Session

Rach and Cam already had their engagement photos taken.
It just so happens she is best fraaaaands with my pal Amanda from Stellar Exposures.
And because she is best fraaaands with Amanda… she wanted her to enjoy her wedding.
(Yay for photographers actually getting to GO to weddings.)
And I got the tag in for wedding photography.

We shot these photos as a mini-session just to get to know each other a little before the wedding.
Rach and Cam live a few blocks from the oceanfront and just wanted some casual shots in the spots they love.

Phil and Jen: Married! | Charlottesville Wedding Photographer | Family Home Wedding | Multi-Cultural Wedding Photographer

Phil and Jen | Louisa, VA | Private Family Estate

Louisa, Virginia is already pretty enough.
Jen and Phil are already the coolest (in case you don’t remember from their engagement session).
Add in double ceremonies, great speeches, an awesome dance party, a great sunset, and the best vendors… and I can hardly even lower this blog post down to a normal number of photos.

Jen and Phil described their wedding as a “Chinese-fusion farm wedding”.
Jen is a first generation Chinese-American and the entire wedding took place on Phil’s family farm.
They kicked off their day with an American ceremony and followed it up with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony during cocktail hour.
Traditional Chinese wedding banquets consist of 8-10 courses served family style, with each dish representing something different, so guests chowed down on an 8 course family style Chinese-fusion meal.
And seeing as they met on a dance floor… the dance party was no joke.

(And as it happens, their wedding was featured on weddingchicks. Heck, yes.)

Big thanks to Jess for being my right-hand lady and second shooting.

Kathleen and Brett: Married | Kilmarnock Wedding Photographer | Virginia Northern Neck Wedding

Kathleen and Brett: Married | Kilmarnock Wedding Photographer | Virginia Northern Neck Wedding

When your family’s home looks like this…
you definitely get married there.

Kathleen and Brett imported all of their friends from their lives in New York City to the Northern Neck of Virginia for their wedding.
There were oysters and freestanding cathedral windows. There was SO much sun and there were the best breezes off of the Chesapeake Bay.
And there were handmade rings with surprise phrases they had picked out for each other.

Thanks to Rebecca for  second shooting.

Mariya and Ronny: Engaged | RVA Engagement Session | Creative RVA Wedding Photographer

Things I love about my clients:
I always feel like I’ve known them forever.
They’re always super easy to get along with and laid back and the most fun.
Mariya and Ronny are no exception to that rule.
I had the most fun walking around the canal walk and downtown for their RVA engagement session.
AND they brought sparklers… and let me play with double exposures (check out the last two images).

Kayla and Christian: Married | Creative Richmond Wedding Photographer | RVA Wedding Photographer

Kayla and Christian: Married | Creative Richmond Wedding Photographer | RVA Wedding Photographer

Kayla and Christian know how to wedding.
They designer their own invitations… got married in a super historic church… invited a small group of their most loved family and friends… and only did what they wanted to.
And they rode to their reception on a two-seater bike.
I don’t think there’s a more RVA thing to do.

Giant thanks to Sarah for coming out to second shoot. Some of these are hers.

Will and Kara: Married | District Winery Photographer | Creative DC Wedding Photographer

Will and Kara: Married | District Winery Photographer | Creative DC Wedding Photographer

Kara and Will got married during the cherry blossom festival in DC.
Scratch that… not just during it. On it. All up in it.
They got married the day of the parade.
Initially, we had made plans to head down to the basin on the way to the church for photos… but it just wasn’t going to happen.
I was dreading having to tell Kara not only were there WAY to many people and too much traffic to make it possible, but that the trees had kind of lost their oomph and were kind of bare.
And then I turned into her parents’ culdesac… and found the most perfect cherry blossom trees.
And all was solved.
You literally could not have asked for a more perfect spot… and there it was right in front of their house.

Big thanks to my awesome pal Carletta for second shooting.
