Pick the hottest day of the summer.
In Virginia. Where it’s humid. On the water. And very opposite of the California weather they were used to.
That’s how Claire and Paul said I do and I got to be their Kilmarnock Wedding Photographer.
They celebrated with their closest family and friends at a family home and it was perfect.

It only took 13 years of shooting, but I finally got to be a Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden Wedding Photographer. I’ve pretty much shot everywhere in Richmond but I had never actually shot my own wedding at the Bloemendaal House until this awesome wedding last year. Bryn and Baird were surrounded by their family and friends, and with Colleen at CCS Events behind the wheel, this wedding was one for the books.
We had amazing light. The garden was beautiful and the colors were a nice change of pace from all of the blush in the wedding market right now.

Lauren and Geoff said I do at Seven Springs in Virginia, but live in Baltimore so they wanted to show off their home. We wound up with a session that ended up being half sun-scortched and half industrial and it fits Baltimore perfect. We started in their house, visited a few of their favorite bars, hung out with their doggo, Jerry, and watched the sunset from their favorite evening walk spots.
Brooklyn Wedding Photographer. Greenpoint Loft Wedding Photographer. Freaking BADASS New York City Wedding Photographer.
Literally all phrases and words and things I have been wanting to say forever.
As long as I can think.
Shooting a Greenpoint Loft Wedding and being a Brooklyn Wedding Photographer has literally been on the top of my bucketlist since I started this little business and when Allie and Rob sent me a message asking me to just shoot their Washington DC Engagement session before they moved to New York… and I found out where their wedding was happening… I may or may not have dropped a little hint mentioning that I travel for weddings.
I’m just stoked they decided to go for it and I got to be a part of this day. Not only was the wedding amazing… but as a couple… they are the most fun. Like I would like to hang out with them on the daily… if I could. Or we could just re-do this wedding again. That would be cool.
With a ceremony in a classic, beautiful church… a parade through the streets of Brooklyn… and a rager dance party reception at Greenpoint Loft…
I literally could not lower down the amount of photos in this post.
I love the amount of love and laughter and happiness I feel looking through these.
Here are just SOME of my favorites.

I shot Corey and Sydney’s wedding what feels like forever ago… so I was super excited when they asked me to be their Virginia Beach Maternity Photographer. They’re the coolest and I knew they would be the best parents. We started at the Cavalier Hotel, headed through the ViBe Creative District, and ended with a few on the beach…. because when you drive down to VB from Richmond… you should take a few on the beach.
I actually really love shooting maternity portraits. I don’t get the tap that often… but I’d REALLY love to shoot more of them… this way. I just happen to think that you don’t have to do all that much different than regular portraits… which for some reason… doesn’t feel like what most people think they should be. I take the exact same approach as I would to an engagement session or any other couples’ session… except sometimes I’ll probably make you guys touch your belly. It’s still documenting your love… and your personalities… and your relationship… and it’s all on the brink of it changing. It’s a pretty special time in your relationship and your lives and I think it should be real and happy and celebrated… and it doesn’t have to be overly-posed or awkawrd or forced if you don’t want it to be. I think your kid would be happy someday to look back on photos and see their parents laughing and being the cool-as-shit humans you are. If you’re looking for a Virginia Beach Maternity Photographer… and you want something a little more relaxed and that feels like you… give me a shout!
Danielle and Michael wanted their wedding to feel like a destination wedding, but not require their guests to travel very far, and with that thought in mind I got to be their Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Wedding Photographer. I love the Eastern Shore and actually have spent some of my favorite vacations on it’s beaches… and I happen to have a super soft spot for the Chesapeake Bay… so I’ll always be excited anytime I get to combine all of those things into one wedding. Danielle got ready in these newly open little bungalows at the resort and the guys got ready in the main hotel also located on the property. And with a short golf cart ride down the road, they were married next to bay on a bright, sunny (hot) day. I loved their whole wedding’s feel… from the palm leaves and greenery to the bright white flowers and black dresses… and the giant dance party. Who doesn’t love a good dance party?

I’m not even sure where to start with this one. Bridget and Keith live in Hampton Roads but wanted to have a mountain wedding.
They found the Lewis Catherine House on Airbnb and carted a bunch of rad vendors from the 757 up to Afton, Virginia. Since I live in Virginia Beach, but don’t shoot here very often, it was great to finally work with some of my favorite friendors again. AND BRIDGET’S DRESS! Seriously, I gasped and might have done some sort of weird jig when I saw it. It’s literally my embroidered, colorful, sparrow-covered dream of a gown. The entire day was SUPER relaxed, SUPER laid-back, and just full of fun.
