I shot Corey and Sydney’s wedding what feels like forever ago… so I was super excited when they asked me to be their Virginia Beach Maternity Photographer. They’re the coolest and I knew they would be the best parents. We started at the Cavalier Hotel, headed through the ViBe Creative District, and ended with a few on the beach…. because when you drive down to VB from Richmond… you should take a few on the beach.

I actually really love shooting maternity portraits. I don’t get the tap that often… but I’d REALLY love to shoot more of them… this way. I just happen to think that you don’t have to do all that much different than regular portraits… which for some reason… doesn’t feel like what most people think they should be. I take the exact same approach as I would to an engagement session or any other couples’ session… except sometimes I’ll probably make you guys touch your belly. It’s still documenting your love… and your personalities… and your relationship… and it’s all on the brink of it changing. It’s a pretty special time in your relationship and your lives and I think it should be real and happy and celebrated… and it doesn’t have to be overly-posed or awkawrd or forced if you don’t want it to be. I think your kid would be happy someday to look back on photos and see their parents laughing and being the cool-as-shit humans you are.
